Responsibilities:
Software Engineering Interns (SWEs) collaborate with teammates to solve problems and develop innovative software solutions. They are passionate about customer satisfaction and product quality, providing technical guidance to Technical Program Managers and Product Managers while considering user needs and product requirements. SWEs are expected to exhibit an ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies, tools, methods, and processes to enhance their solutions. The role requires dedication to the design, development, and testing of next-generation software to empower individuals and organizations globally.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- At least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the student worker program.
- Experience and interest in working with backend containerized microservices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Fluency in English.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Kenya (having citizenship or a valid visa/work permit).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for quality, performance, and reliability.
- Knowledge and experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as C# or Python.
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience delivering results through collaboration across disciplines, feature teams, and partners.
