Regional Finance Manager

Overall Purpose of the Role:
Under the management of the Regional Head of Support Services, the Regional Finance Manager focuses on providing support and guidance to each Country Office within the region. Responsibilities include budget development, financial reporting, expenditure follow-up, cost control management, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management & Coordination:
- Efficiently manage and supervise Finance Department staff.
- Ensure compliance with financial rules and regulations within the region.
- Facilitate communication and information sharing on financial matters with HQ, Country Offices, and donors.
- Monitor payments, reimbursements, and reporting at the regional level.
- Collaborate with other Regional Managers/Coordinators.
2. Finance (Budgeting, Accounting & Reporting):
- Participate in the development of regional project budgets.
- Assure quality budgeting activities in country operations.
- Efficiently follow up on budgets and cost control.
- Ensure adherence to financial rules and regulations.
- Monitor bank accounts and liquidity.
- Produce donor, internal, and statutory reports.
3. Audit, Compliance, and Risk:
- Support donor financial audits.
- Facilitate internal financial audits.
- Ensure compliance of financial documents.
- Identify and manage financial risks.
4. ERP System (DRC Dynamics):
- Support the implementation of DRC Dynamics for the Finance Track in each Country Office.
- Contribute to the development of learning materials.
- Ensure the full utilization of DRC Dynamics Finance Track.
- Uphold financial procedures and workflows.
5. Capacity-Building:
- Support training of Finance staff at the regional level.
- Contribute to capacity-building in Country Offices.
- Participate in performance appraisal of finance staff.
- Support talent management initiatives.
About You:

Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Minimum five (5) years of senior leadership experience in operations management roles.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role in an international NGO.
- Proven leadership skills and competence in people management.
- Significant experience in grant management and institutional fundraising.
- Proficient in English.
- Understanding of the different contexts of the EAGL Region.
Education:
- Master’s degree in International Development, Economics, Political Science, Public Affairs, Business Administration or Management, or another relevant field.
- Professional Accounting or Financial qualifications (CPA K/ACCA).
