Job Description:

Job Purpose: To grow and retain client relationships within the allocated segment/sector portfolio (Women Banking). Execute the segment offering, related toolbox(es), initiatives, and activities aimed at optimizing client experience and profitability for the bank.

Key Deliverables:

  • Adhere to required compliance, legislative, regulatory, etc. requirements (e.g., KYC).
  • Apply sound account management principles for optimal credit portfolio management execution.
  • Analyze, identify, and recommend operational procedures to minimize risk.
  • Act on client instructions within the defined mandate and escalate where applicable.
  • Make recommendations on structuring future lending facilities based on a client’s credit profile.
  • Conduct due diligence at deal inception to minimize credit provisions and ensure sustainable bankability.
  • Conduct ongoing client reviews, ensuring effective client service and delivery of financial objectives.
  • Source relevant market information and key trends to enable proactive information sharing with clients and the team.
  • Inform clients of credit application information requirements and facilitate timely submission.
  • Educate customers regarding the value of using self-service channels to empower customers and minimize ad-hoc service requests.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of client requirements through regular value-adding interactions.
  • Ensure all clients in the portfolio meet segmentation criteria as per defined parameters.
  • Execute toolbox(es) requirements and the defined segment/sector offering for clients in the portfolio.
  • Explore alternative solutions in the event of declined facilities and motivate for arbitration where necessary.
  • Formulate solutions to respond to a client’s needs and requirements accordingly.
  • Source feedback from clients on their experience and service levels and address areas of concern.
  • Identify and rectify revenue leakage for the portfolio.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand opportunities across the existing client base.
  • Manage and control client exposure and securities held to contain concentration risk.
  • Notify clients timeously of the approval/decline of credit loan facilities.
  • Prepare and submit quality credit applications for evaluation and/or approval by Credit.
  • Proactively anticipate negative impacts on the portfolio influenced by market conditions, changes in legislation, and macroeconomic conditions.
  • Proactively plan and effectively manage timelines for annual credit reviews for the portfolio.
  • Raise, manage, and follow up on queries to ensure constant feedback to clients and timely query resolution.
  • Report on portfolio performance against targets, service, financial, compliance, credit, risk, etc.
  • Maintain a healthy link between the Balance Sheet and Income Statement by managing agreed margins.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Business Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.

Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years in Relationship Banking (Client Coverage), Business & Commercial Banking.
  • Relationship management experience as a Business Banker or Relationship Manager.
  • Significant product knowledge including specialized products and financial structures.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and client financial analysis.
  • Experience in preparing and motivating Credit applications is essential.
