Job Purpose
The Legal Officer is responsible for assisting in Board Matters.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in provision of guidance to the Board on their duties and responsibilities and on matters of Governance;
- Assisting to faciliate Board induction and development and implementation of the Capacity building programmes;
- Assisting in preparation and management of Board Work-Plans;
- Assisting to faciliate Annual Board Evaluation;
- Assisst in facilitating Governance Audits;
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Board Charters, Terms of Reference and the Code of Conduct and Ethics;
- Assiat in the preparation and circulation of Board and Committee Papers; and
- Maintain and update the Register of Conflict of Interest.
Personal Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor of Business management/administration from a recognized institution;
- Minimum KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent;
- Certified Public Secretary CPS(K) or its equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
