About the Position:

We are in search of a dynamic Agriculture Product Associate to join our Agriculture Product team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing products that resonate with our customers. The challenge is thrilling, as you leverage your agricultural background to recommend products that are not only commercially viable but also ensure a substantial return on investment for our clientele.

As an Agriculture Product Associate, your role will be advisory and project management-focused. You will collaborate closely with the Product, Commercial, and Tech teams, overseeing the design and implementation of scalable and innovative agricultural products. Reporting Lines:

This position reports to the Senior Product Associate, Agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product & Project Development:
    • Utilize agile project management methods to determine optimal inputs (seeds, fertilizers, chemicals), emphasizing collaboration, adaptability, and customer feedback.
    • Take full responsibility for agricultural products in the Apollo store, managing advisory content, recommendations, regional mapping, and pricing.
  2. Training Design and Implementation:
    • Develop comprehensive curriculums and upskilling programs, managing the entire process from ideation to execution.
    • Implement scalable training strategies and oversee effectiveness through evaluation and feedback mechanisms.
  3. User Research Coordination, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
    • Incorporate Agile project management methods to coordinate, monitor, evaluate, and report on user research.
    • Streamline processes, data collection, and analysis for informed decision-making.
  4. Agronomy Mandate – Project Management Focus:
    • Utilize project management strategies to bridge the gap between current farming practices and good agronomic practices.
    • Evaluate associated costs and benefits at each step to improve farmer return on investment and Apollo profit margins.
  5. Training and Advisory – Project Management Focus:
    • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, innovative training and advisory programs aligned with Apollo’s objectives.
    • Maximize the use of existing infrastructure, including field agents, agro-dealers, and call centres, to ensure successful training delivery.


  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of agronomy/soil science to address various agricultural challenges faced by smallholder farmers in Kenya.
  • Comfortable generating, analyzing, and synthesizing a range of data, from customer insights to large datasets.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced scale-up environment, making decisions with limited information to balance commercial and operational priorities.
  • Open-minded about the ‘right’ model of agriculture, recognizing diverse social and environmental impacts.
  • Committed to continuous learning and adaptable to new environments or tools (e.g., SQL).
  • Excellent communication skills in English (and ideally Swahili and/or another language spoken in Kenya).
  • Comfortable working in and leading intercultural teams.
  • A few years into your career, with experience in research institutions, corporate, or ag tech.
