Job Description:

As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will assume a multifaceted role involving the coordination and collection of financial information within the Accounts Payable section. Your responsibilities encompass:

  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures, receiving protocols, and the accounts payable process.
  • Knowledge of the local market, accounts payable, banking regulations, and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze Accounts Payable data and generate financial reports upon request.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in modern office methods, procedures, and equipment.
  • Competence in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Cultivate a courteous and friendly atmosphere, fostering positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Collaborate as a department team member, projecting a positive personal, departmental, and company image.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s employee handbook regulations.
  • Understand and comply with the hotel’s policies, standard operating procedures, and guidelines related to fire, safety, and health.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with high volume AP essentials.
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounts systems; preferred knowledge in Sage.
  • Experience in a medium to large corporate environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant (K).
  • Proactive attitude, with the ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings.
  • Excellent administration and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Kenyan statutory remittances and tax law.
