About the Role:

Reporting to the Sales Director, the role will manage and support Key Accounts across Kenya to drive profitability by delivering on revenue, market share growth and customer satisfaction. The position holder will foster relationships with key decision makers within this market segment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver set commercial and business objectives and targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve the sales objectives in the key accounts through the implementation of appropriate in-store developments, promotions, and product mix.
  • Lead the conceptualization and execution of all trade promotions in assigned in key accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in modern trade, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and large retail chains etc.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the Joint Business Plans between the company and the key accounts.
  • Work closely with Key Account teams to ensure optimal product placement on shelves to maximize visibility and accessibility.
  • Manage and motivate the key accounts team to achieve their set goals while and targets.
  • Lead in training and mentorship of modern trade staff on product knowledge, promotions, and selling techniques.
  • Provide sales forecast in line with sales trends and plan
  • Develop and implement appropriate channel & customer plans utilizing the allocated budgets to achieve the sales Targets.
  • Collaborate with the logistics, distribution teams and other stakeholders to minimize out of stock in the key accounts managed.
  • Closely monitor market activities through competitor analysis and use the data to provide insights and recommendations that ensure the business acts appropriately and timely.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess the impact of external and internal factors that may affect business and develop counter measures.

The Person

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Over 5 years’ managerial experience within Modern Trade in FMCG.
  • Good track record in delivering exemplary sales results.
  • Strong understanding of modern trade dynamics and complexities.
  • Relevant post graduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced people management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good negotiation and networking skills.
